  • During the Anniversary Weekend, we have a few very special things going on!

Each DJ will be asking a specific question during their show. If you fill out the form to answer the question, you get a point! If you get the answer to the question right, you get two points! The questions are non-sequentially numbered and each DJ will ask a different one, so stay tuned! When the contest is over, I will tally up the number of points each listener has (hint: use the same name every time you answer!) and each listener will receive a number of raffle tickets equal to the number of points they have! Charlie and I will be drawing FOURTEEN winners on our Friday, September 3rd show on the station cam, and the more points you have, the more chances you have to win a cool prize, such as a City of Heroes* art book (signed by War Witch!), a City of Heroes* poster, an exclusive KJSR.net 2nd Anniversary poster (designed by DJ Mionas and signed by DJ Kyo and DJ Charlie!), A KJSR.net Prize Pack, or a KJSR.net t-shirt from GenCon 2010! DJs and Staff are ineligible for this contest-this one’s just for you, the listeners!

Also, we will be running our very first Yulanda Yee Memorial Fundraiser. Yulanda was DJ WRider’s girlfriend and a friend of KJSR.net who passed away in February 2010 after losing her battle with lymphoma. All donations to the YYMF will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society directly via the ChipIn on the main page!

Beginning August 28th and continuing through September 10th, you can enter our Pirate Radio contest! Submit a new catchline for the station (to replace “The Voice of Jello Shooters”) by e-mailing it to pirateradio@kjsr.net. The top five will be determined by the staff and voted on by the DJs and listeners from September 11th through September 18th; on September 19th (Talk Like A Pirate Day) Charlie and Kyo will announce the winners of the contest. First prize will be an official Pirate Radio DVD and KJSR.net t-shirt; second prize will be an official Pirate Radio soundtrack and a KJSR.net t-shirt; third prize will be a “retro”-style PC microphone and (yes) another KJSR.net t-shirt!

Charlie and Kyo will have a special address for all DJs, Staff members, and listeners during their very special 7pm show on Sunday, August 29th. Be sure to tune in and don’t miss out!

We sincerely hope you enjoy our 2nd Anniversary and all it brings! We thank you for all your support these past 2 years, and look forward to many more years with you, our loyal listeners, rockin’ out right here on KJSR.net!

*Please note: KJSR.net is not affiliated with Paragon Studios or City of Heroes/City of Villains in any way (except that most of us are players).

    ATTENTION GENCON VISITORS!

    Saturday, August 7th, 2010

If you see this catgirl, go up to her and offer to dance the macarena with her, and she will give you a free KJSR.net T-Shirt! Can’t dance? Ask her for a shirt, and she just might give you one anyway!

    Stream Troubles…

    Saturday, July 17th, 2010

Yes folks, the stream is up and down today due to some events that are outside our control. So if you’re tuned in, and it suddenly cuts out, don’t worry, it’ll be right back up!

This should clear up by late afternoon.

    KJSR TV is now Live!

    Sunday, June 13th, 2010

Folks, we’ve been working on a little something “behind the scenes” just for you!

We now have a new site, TV.KJSR.net, just for station-related videos! Expect to see TONS of videos by and about our DJs to show up very soon!

    Letter of Apology

    Saturday, April 10th, 2010

    To all our listeners:

By now, many of you are aware of the problems that have risen from the recent incarnation of our Hurt or Heal game. Despite our attempts to keep the game fair, an exploit was discovered that allowed players to bypass standard voting procedures. For the time being, we will not be reinstating the game; it has been proven to us through the actions of a select few that it would be better to simply let it go. To those who did play fairly, we thank you, and hope that you enjoyed the game while it lasted.

On a related note, we are aware that some of the pertinent information about the exploit and the persons involved, which should have been addressed in private, was taken to a public domain and aired. In this, some of our staff members have reacted in an unprofessional manner. We are deeply disappointed in how the situation was handled, and on behalf of the staff and crew of KJSR.net, we sincerely apologize for letting things get out of control. What we want now is to allow tempers to cool, and for parties on both sides to stop the slinging of false accusations that have been aimed towards crippling each other. It is only with reasonable minds and calm voices that this matter can be put behind us all. From here out, we will be handling the situation privately with only the parties directly involved.

Once again, we apologize for how we have handled the situation, and we will do our best to from here out to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.

    Sincerely,

    The KJSR.net Staff

    Hurt or Heal, Round 2!

    Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Round 2 with MORE DJs, and a special guest is now up and running! Go vote!

    Stream Instability: UPDATE

    Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Ok folks, we’re in the process of upgrading to a full 64k stream (ONE stream).

It should stabilize in a few minutes, and then DJ Mionas will be back on with his Book Club.

If you’ve been listening through a bookmark, you may need to update it. Both of the listen links on the right-hand menu are updated for you already.

Enjoy the new higher quality stream!

    Stream Instability

    Thursday, April 1st, 2010

This is a warning that the streams will be up and down today while we upgrade to 64K. Please bear with us at this time.

    And no, we’re not joking.

    -Kyo

    Hurt or Heal – Update!

    Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Ok folks, we’re working hard on getting the game restarted. It SHOULD be back up and running early next week, with an expanded roster of DJs competing for YOUR votes!

Additionally, we have this to report:

To the Staff, DJ’s and Listeners of KJSR.NET:

We would like to apologize to each of you, as well as the DJs involved in the original “Hurt and Heal” contest for our part in the voting disaparity.

During at least two evenings of this contest, we found that the timer was not working correctly when using IE8 and refresh/retry. During these times we took advantage of this anomaly to cast more votes than the contest allowed.

We sincerely apologize to all the KJSR DJs and listeners for our unethical participation in this event and aplogize for any hurt feelings or anger this may have caused.

    2:44am – Station Offline

    Saturday, March 20th, 2010

3:02am – Update: Streams are back up, but somebody in Norway is still SLAMMING Johnny’s server hard! More details as we get them.

Yes folks, I’m up VERY early (or WAY late, depending on how you look at it) trying to bring the station back online. We had a rather large intrusion attempt on Johnny’s server, and we’re fixing it now. We’ll be back up and running shortly, so sit tight!
