Sorry folks, but the station is having some major connectivity issues with the main servers right now.
We’re working on it, and should be back up shortly!
UPDATE: We’re back on the air (using a backup), but the connection is still spotty. Still working on getting this fixed with new and better hardware ASAP!
Well, it’s that time of year again. Are you ready for the crowds of ghosts, goblins, ghouls, aliens, and robots who will be visiting your door tonight?
Or maybe you’re having a party to celebrate the scariest night of the year…
Either way, we’ve got you covered! We have a fully packed schedule of spooky tunes that will make any creepy crawlie get up and dance!
Additionally, we have TWO contests running!
One, send a picture of either your costume, or your best pumpkin carving to contest@kjsr.net to win!
AND, during the Halloween shows tonight, if you come into out live chat (look for the Big Blue Button), and get on your webcam wearing your costume, you’ll be entered in a raffle to win a BOX of Halloween movies (and several other prizes)!
And of course, our auto DJ will be playing Halloween music all through the day!
Three years! Three whole years! Can you believe it? I sure as heck can’t!
I know I’ve told the story before, but when Charlie and I first sat down and started KJSR.net, I didn’t think we’d last an entire MONTH. I figured he’d get bored, wander off to a new project, and I’d be off the hook. I didn’t want to run a radio station! I knew absolutely nothing about it! And boy, oh, boy was I wrong on every front.
I don’t think I understood just how much KJSR.net really, truly meant to me until recently. As some of you know, I am currently in NY visiting my family in preparation for moving out to Las Vegas. Well, my computer got smashed on my way here (long story!) and my family isn’t exactly techno-conscious, so I’m working off of my grandmother’s laptop and a somewhat unstable wireless connection. I can barely listen to the stream. Can you say enforced vacation?
I miss all of you so much, and I can’t wait to get back on the air, but I’m really proud of the staff and DJs of KJSR.net. In all the time I’ve been on “vacation”, they pulled together the whole anniversary weekend without any help from me, and now they’re pulling it off absolutely flawlessly! I am so honored to be able to work with these great people all the time, and I’m excited to get on a decent computer and a good connection and get back to work!
This is a happy occasion for us, marred by only one detail. This weekend will be DJ Abrahms’ last show. Abrahms has been a DJ with us almost since the creation of KJSR.net, and he was our very first staff member. We hope you will join us in celebrating his ‘career’ as an internet DJ (though we wish it was longer!) and in wishing him well in all his future endeavors. I’m sure he’ll keep in touch with us, but things just won’t be the same without DJ Abrahms or his show, Get Tanked! Maybe someday he’ll decide he misses us and come back, and if he does, there will always be a timeslot waiting for him!
I really don’t know what else to say. Thank you all for another wonderful year. Thank you to the listeners and contributors who keep us going. Thank you to the staff who keep things running smoothly and the DJs who keep us entertained. Thank you to Johnny, who keeps life interesting, and to Charlie, who keeps going even when the going gets tough. It’s been my pleasure and my honor to meet and get to know all of you, and I look forward to another year with you.
Thanks for the music and the memories,
DJ Kyo
